Dust to dust

Dust to dust
I committed
an act
of forgetting
on you,
whoever
you are,
whatever
you want,
I put dust
on you,
I do not
recognise
your smile,
do not quite
understand
the welcome
you find,
I drink my
Alzheimers
feed on my
Amnesia,
I snuff out
sand candles,
put sun dials
in moon shade,
yet in spite
of all my
black magic,
I cannot unburn
diaries or unlearn
lies or unsay word
bubbles long burst
by the tack of time.
