Posted: Sunday, January 11, 2004
Word Count: 101
Summary: This is the flip side of 'Lucifer's Embrace'. ('Farishta' is the urdu for 'angel'.)

Today,
amidst my chimeras awakening,
my feline unfurling with creaseless brow,
I meekly bow to the smooth peach
of another miraculous morning.

I emerge a sublime seraph
virtues unsurpassed,
wallowing languidly
in ephemeral scents
of blissful sugared moments.

And drifting gently
through the day’s balmy space,
from my lips,
upon the wistful wings of honeyed charm,
I utter inexplicable words of wonderment.

For Farishta is my lover,
his compulsion, my devotion,
his allure, the epitome of purity.

And, his allegiance is without challenge,
silhouetted against the spectacular sunrise
in white silken robes, ablaze with gold
he has no need to stray.
