Indebted.
Ungratefully bathing
In golden liquidity
Taking for granted
Sight.
It’s surety.
Drawn from the subdued shadows
Into the luminescent court.
And,
Aboard your sky-bound chariot
Allow me to rest
My light-headedness
Upon the broadness of your breast
While you plough your
Relentless furrow
From East to West.
And,
Never shield your face
From me again.
Wherever you go,
Carry me with you.
And if the clouds smother me,
Send me an unequivocal sign
That you are still there
In vigil
Protecting me
Ever
My unwavering sentinel
And when my path
Becomes darkened
Cast a ray
To illuminate
My murky way.
And your departures
Are never sad
Because I am
Left reassuringly
Enfolded
In your photons.
I am forever,
Incontestably
Your heliotrope.
