It would not
Astound,
Confound or
Confuse me
If, while making a cup of tea,
A sprite passed me the sugar.
Or, while telling a joke
A sniggering imp hopped upon my shoulder
Or, before slipping into slumber
A dainty fairy
(Appropriately attired
In a pink tutu)
Placed a delicate kiss
Upon my cheek.

Because, I heard a clamour
And could not resist
Poking my finger
Through the seamless membrane
An irreversible act
Which allowed,
Amidst the din
And my dizzy delight
Their influx.

And during the lonely
Hour before sunrise
I am not surprised
To find myself
In rather agreeable company.
