That magic you can taste,
those fizzing moments on
the tongue, the ice cream
hit on teeth, when
you realise,

as you draw the curtains
and look out over your world,
that Nature has done her best.

And nothing can ever

ever

match the child-like
delight it always brings.

The thaw will surely come
tonight
or very soon
but

now

I can savour the snow
