True Colours

Summary: Flash 1 and 2 challenge

They say true colours match moods, reflect personalities.
Usually, your aura is blue, edged with red that arches above your head like a rainbow.

They say red is the first colour you lose at twilight. And tonight, as that red dims and those pale blues fade, I ask myself am I losing you?

You've always said my aura is white. White reveals truth and honesty, doesn't it?

Today, I'm wearing grey and my white aura, you tell me, with sadness in your voice, is rimmed in black; a black that conceals my true thoughts from you.

You ask me to put on that pretty pink dress. I note you're wearing a pale orange tie. And, as I gaze at the tie, I wonder if you're trying to recapture your desire; a powerful desire you once had for me.

So I change into my pink dress. You replace your tie with a purple one. And I think, as you walk out of the room, if maybe you're tyring to confuse me.

And, as we leave for dinner, a bouquet of daffodils in their glass vase catches my eye; spring flowers that should engender feelings of joy and happiness inside me.

Now, at the sight of those yellow trumpets, I suspect your recent gift is a token of your deceit; a deceit that, after all this time, you're about to reveal to me.
