No.
Not again.
Please no.
Sweep me not
Into the whirlpool.
Deliver me
From its insidious pull
Abandon me to me
Please, let me be.
How can one learn
To pretend
To spurn
The subconscious
Burning yearning?
And, as I am transported
Upon the enchanting breeze,
At its sacred altar
I sink to my knees.
And,
However dismissive
My nonchalant wave
I have to confess
I am forever
Love’s slave.
Not again.
Please no.
Sweep me not
Into the whirlpool.
Deliver me
From its insidious pull
Abandon me to me
Please, let me be.
How can one learn
To pretend
To spurn
The subconscious
Burning yearning?
And, as I am transported
Upon the enchanting breeze,
At its sacred altar
I sink to my knees.
And,
However dismissive
My nonchalant wave
I have to confess
I am forever
Love’s slave.
