Why?
by The Walrus
Posted: Thursday, October 16, 2003 Word Count: 50 Summary: Fairly harsh, but are all guilty from time to time... Originally inspired by Cavafy's 'As Much As You Can'. |
Polluting lucidity
With egocentric chatter,
Dulling our senses,
With our worn out patter,
Hiding behind the mask
Of the pitiful sycophant,
Clouding the truth
With our churlish cant,
Barricaded behind
Our self-nurtured
Insecurities.
Deliberately refusing to see
That we are elaborately
Constructing the barbaric barriers
To a beautiful reality.
