Another Day at the Movies

She despised herself and all she ever was
The body she inhabited repulsed her
Through life she was always rejected
Never a colour, a pink or a blue, but black

She stared in nothingness and saw relief
The rest that only she could witness
Her dreams became elaborate theories
Endless smiles at the twists and quirks

She continued to suffer, building it all up to the day
To the precise time when she would show the world
The strength of her favourite word fired her more
Her silence went as it was to, to others around

On that beautiful sunrise she was away then
Found in the kitchen with a tear in her eye
But a smile on her face that only I can ever know
All this I see on the little silver screen behind my eyes
