I lay my head on my pillow
But you're not there
I close my eyes and begin to wonder
Were you ever there?
Waiting
Arms outstreched
You are there
We walk
Embrace
Lay down
The grass feels cool and the daisies hold their heads up in approval
You are there
Our lips meet, open, tongues caress
You are there
Passion rises, legs entwined
You are there
I stroke your head and down your back
You are there
Your hand holds my breast, your thumbs are there
Your lips move and suckle
The nipples stand erect, proud to your touch
You are there
Passion takes over, we become one again

Dawn rises and I stir
My head upon your pillow, you're not there
You have gone

Only in sleep do I know you are there
Only in death will we be as one
We will both be there
