Ok, so what it’s not about
Is standing on your head
To defy gravity
Or plucking out the grey hairs
Cos you’ll end up bald.
And you can dream
All you like
About that elusive
Anti-ageing cream.
It is also not about
Adopting a persona of
A wife
A mother.
Because, first and foremost
You are a woman.
A fabulous feminine creation.
And with that territory
Comes the gift of giving,
The loveliness of a drifting lily
The reservoir of limitless compassion,
The softness of sleeping upon a nomadic cloud,
The grace of soft tread,
The enticing, caressing touch,
The passion of a lioness…
Behind every great man…
Every woman is beautiful…
As my old Pa says
“The most beautiful thing
About a woman
Is her smile”.
Never forget,
It only gets better.
