The maypole around which we swing,
The rock to which we cling.

Merry eyes cannot disguise
a girl’s delight, clarity of sight.
Clasping the rudder with a faithful hand
She steers her course to a foreign land.

The rich exotic voice cannot disguise
murmuring allure, magnetic fervour.
Taking up her reigns with one hand
She guides her steed to a welcoming land.

Radiant face cannot disguise
unextinguishable light, goddess given right.
Boarding the space ship, its mission to learn
She sets her stellar trajectory bound for Saturn.

Graceful stride cannot disguise
crystallised being, unfaltering seeing.
Holding beaming beacon aloft
Alighting the way casting demons astray.

Flowing passion cannot disguise
compas.sionate salvation, joyous liberation.
Hoisting Athenian flag heaven bound
The blessed people’s cheers resound.

Indomitable spirit, cannot disguise
heritage of warriors, that deep within stir
With clenched fist and Amazonian cry
She leads her army with heads held high.

She is the maypole around which we swing,
The rock to which we cling.
