JOHN LENNON AT THE HARVESTER

O/V: We now take you back in time to the early sixties where a very young John Lennon used to wait tables at the local Harvester Restaurant in Liverpool just across the road from the Cavern.

LENNON: So that’s a burger and chips is it mate?

MAN: Yes, that’s right.

LENNON: Look, if you don’t mind me saying, like, but what you need with this dish is vegetables. Can I suggest petit pois? (Man looks puzzled) Peas.

MAN: Oh! No thanks.

LENNON: But they’re delicious with a knob of butter and a sprinkling of salt. My aunt Mimi swears by it.

MAN: Thank you but I’m happy enough with the burger and chips.

LENNON: But you can’t whack a portion of peas – it really makes the meal complete.

MAN: No! (Lennon is being persistent and dogged) NO! Look what is your problem – I’m not interested!

LENNON: Oh come on, mate, all I’m saying is give peas a chance.
