En Passant
Love came to me
sorrowing at time
its trajectory decaying
to a parabola of necessity
energy seeking
lines of finite force
turning inwards
forming circles
of passion spent
in remembrance
of moments lost
in the measured pace of choice
we shall become
became a past
of treasured memory
the gravity of life
draws me and all I am
and all I longed to be
into the loving arms
of life-sustaining earth
to ash
and a self-less rebirth
without regret
