Sightless eyes see completely
yet nothing at all
Different tests for different problems
yet still the same
Baffled doctors
take my blood
as I sit and scream inside
All the while I’m falling down
giving out, toppling over
Friends ignore me
pay attention no longer

Deaf ears hear flattened air
but not exactly
Some more pills to pop
but no effect
Confused, scared
frantic little child
crying when no one can see
no one can know
Disorientated mind
spinning horizontally
What’s going on?

This terrifyingly conveys fear, confusion and desperation. It is stark, powerful and invokes sympathy.

Well done.

Rai - a fretful piece of writing - conveyed well through both the words and the rhythm. Highly emotive - good work!

We're all frantic, frightened little children inside, and old age can have the same effect. Very descriptive.

Rai - this is very poignant poem - it feels like the subject has been drugged up to the eyeballs with pills to try and solve a problem that cannot be solved in that way.

Thank you all very much for your words and opinions.
It is unfortunate that this happens pretty much everyday, but I don't think it matter what age you are, if medical 'experts' don't have a clue what's wrong... you're going to get worried.

I can relate to this, but never think friends ignore, for they see all, but they know not what to do. All one can do is remember who they are.

Thanks Fearless. I know friends don't ignore intentionally - if at all - but in desperate despair your mind can convince you of anything.

Thanks again.
